Dry or dehydrated skin? A mistake that costs results
Dry or dehydrated skin? A mistake that costs results
Very often, clients say: "my skin is dry".
However, in reality, most of the time it is not dry – it is dehydrated.
And these are two completely different things.
Dry skin is a skin type. It lacks lipids (fats), so it is naturally thinner, more sensitive, and can flake.
Dehydrated skin is a condition. And anyone can have it: even those with oily or combination skin.
Signs of dehydration:
– tight feeling
– dull skin
– fine lines
– "tired" facial appearance
And this is where one of the biggest mistakes occurs.
People start using heavier, richer creams, hoping to "nourish" the skin. However, if the skin lacks water, oils or heavy creams will not solve the problem.
The skin must first be saturated with moisture, only then can it be "locked in" with cream.
Therefore, effective care always starts with:
– light, hydrating serums
– humectants (e.g., hyaluronic acid)
– restoring water balance
When the skin gets what it truly needs, it recovers very quickly – radiance, elasticity, and vitality appear.
